Things to do in Rignac

Rignac is a small but lively town which organises countless events throughout the year, including outdoor cinema showings, a firefighters’ ball, the Mirabelle Plum Festival, as well as monthly crafts, dance and music fairs. Rignac is also home to the area’s chestnut conservation facility, the Aveyron Conservatoire Régional du Châtaignier, where visitors can learn about the importance of the tree to the ecosystem for free. If you’d like to venture out of town, but not as far as the nearest thermal resort or cave, walk to Belcastel, a village with cobbled alleys, ancient houses and a Medieval castle overlooking its stone bridge. For activities for the whole family, visit the small town of Peyrusse-le-Roc, which dates from the 8th century and features a variety of well-preserved ruins of towers, chapels and even a medieval castle.
