Monteriggioni, about 10km from Siena and 45km from Florence, is a commune in the Province of Siena in the Italian region of Tuscany, a region of gently rolling hills, dense and mysterious forests, ancient hilltop villages, fortified castles and Renaissance palaces - a wonderful combination of urban beauty and the magic of nature.
Monteriggioni is a medieval town, located on a natural hillock, surrounded by ancient town walls, built in the 13th century, studded with watchtowers and with its two main gates, opening towards Florence and Rome.
