Welcome to Lacona, close to the little town of Capoliveri, a town made up of sloping terraces, on the hillside of Mount Calamita, on the island of Elba, in Tuscany. On the hill-sides of Mount Calamita little authentic fishing ports, old hill-top villages, ancient chateaux, citadels, green valleys and idyllic bays alternate with splendid sandy or pebble beaches, drenched in the Italian sunlight.
In the south of the island of Elba, in a vast, natural setting, 7 hectares of pine, cypress and olive trees, the residence "Lacona Club" is made up of 3 buildings, about 200 m from the sea.
Private beach, swimming pool (25 m) with hydro massage, 2 tennis courts, restaurant (buffet), playground. Wifi available free of charge in the vestibule of the hotel.
The apartments for 2 to 4 persons all have an equipped kitchenette (electric hotplates, fridge), a shower room, toilet and a furnished terrace or balcony. Free television.
Explore the surrounding area of Lacona, on foot or by mountain-bike, all along the island's coastline, where rise up the villages of Chiessi, its houses built on a rocky platform, and of Pomonte, with its houses surrounded by vine-yards.
On the southern coast feature the beach of Fetovaia, one of the most fascinating places on the island and 2 marvellous villages : Seccheto andt Cavoli. Marino Di Campo is the first of the 3 large creeks that are characteristic of this part of the Island of Elba. Here is to be found one of the largest and finest beaches of the island.
To visit in Capoliveri and in the surrounding area:
- Portoferraio : capital of the island and dwelling-place of the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.
- Porto Azzurro: the second most important port after Portoferraio, for a port of call on the island, situated in a deep inlet. Porto Azzurro has a promontory, from which rises up the San Giacomo fortress (1063) and the fort Focardo on the opposite side. Between San Giacomo and Fort Focardo, are the Barbarossa, Reale and Nere beaches. The last place to see on the eastern coast is Rio Marina, with its historic centre overlooked by an octagonal tower, built in the 16th century.
- The Rione Cotone, a picturesque little town, which constitutes the historical centre of Marciana Marittima. Marciana is a gateway to the summit of mount Capanne (1019m), from which one benefits from a magnificent view.
