The second largest fishing port on the French Mediterranean, Le Grau du Roi is a traditional fishing village, thriving due to its maritime activity. Its marina, Port Camargue, is the realm of sailing and water sports' lovers.
In the « oc » language, spoken in the South of France, a « grau » is the natural opening in the coastline, allowing the water from the sea to mix with the lake water. The Grau du Roi developed at the beginning of the XIIIth century, allowing communication between the Mediterranean and the étang du Repausset.

500 m from the town centre and 1 km from the beach, the residential leisure park offers you its Olympic swimming pool, with its large children’s pool. A whole host of activities is on offer for both young and old: outdoor theatre, children’s games, 6 tennis-courts, 2 multi-use sports’ grounds , children and teenagers’ activity clubs.

By car : A9 sortie motorway, exit Gallargues N°26 then N113, D979, D62 then Espiguette be ach.
By train : Grau du Roi, Montpellier (25 km) or Nîmes (50 km )railway stations
By plane : Montpellier (20 km) oru Nîmes (42 km) airports.

Guided tour of the Grau du Roi and of Port Camargue by mini-train, every day during the high season or week-ends ,bank holidays and school holidays, out of season.
